TikTok Pilot Ad campaign

As a new entrepreneur, one of the challenges is getting your store recognized. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through the use of paid advertisements. TikTok stands out as a particularly accessible platform for this purpose. By providing a set of images, the platform automatically generates short videos complete with transitions, effects, and music. In this entry, I aim to share some of the insights I've gained through my experiences.

In my campaign, I curated 3 sets of images, from which I selected two short videos per set, resulting in a total of 6 video ads. All of these advertisements follow a consistent format: the initial image features a real photograph of an iconic car, namely a classic Mustang, a Nissan GTR, and a Chevy Corvette C8. The second image showcases the graphic that gets printed on the t-shirt from the Sports Car Manga collection. Finally, the third and last image portrays a model wearing the t-shirt with the featured graphic.

To target my advertising efforts, I focused on the United States and Canada. Additionally, I limited the audience by gender to exclusively male. This decision was based on my intuition, stemming from the fact that a significant majority of car enthusiasts I encounter in real life are male.

With a relatively modest budget of $125, allocated with a daily cap of $20, I managed to accumulate a variety of results. The campaign garnered a total of 22,246 impressions and elicited 258 clicks. Here's a breakdown of the audience demographics, as provided by TikTok:
  • Ages 18-24: 27%
  • Ages 25-34: 70%
  • Ages 35-44: 13%

Furthermore, a geographical analysis revealed that the majority of the audience was from the United States, with key states including:
  • Texas: 16.6%
  • California: 16.6%
  • New York: 13.4%
  • Florida: 9%

Remarkably, the Nissan GTR video outperformed the others in terms of clicks. This outcome is somewhat anticipated due to the passionate cult following that the GTR has garnered over time. What is surprising, however, is the comparatively lower engagement with the Corvette C8 video. Despite both being classified as supercars, the Nissan GTR's historical significance and substantial fan base likely contributed to its success.

I'm uncertain if I can derive any conclusions beyond refining my age and location targeting for my upcoming campaign. My aspiration is that, with ample time, my dedication to SEO optimization will contribute to capturing a larger share of customer acquisition.
